• The Catholic Lawyers Guild will hold its First Friday Mass in the chapel of the Immaculate Conception Church at noon Friday.

• The American Red Cross is offering a class in standard first aid/automated external defibrillator operations Friday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The organization will also offer training in adult, infant & child CPR and first aid Saturday from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Both at their Riverside location. Also on Friday, The American Red Cross will be providing instruction in babysitting to children aged 11-15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orange Park Medical Center.

• Equal Pay Day is scheduled for April 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at FCCJ’s Downtown Campus.

• A tree planting ceremony is scheduled Friday at 10 a.m. to mark the beginning of the landscape effort on the first completed section of the Wonderwood Connector. The ceremony will take place at the intersection of Wonderwood Drive and A1A. Approximately $1.2 million has been set aside for landscaping on the Wonderwood project.

• More than 200 African-American Northeast Florida professionals are expected to attend the inaugural University of North Florida African American Professionals Seminar and Luncheon April 30 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. The program includes six educational sessions and a panel discussion. The keynote speaker is Ron Archer, president and CEO of The Archer Institute. To register, call 620-4242.

• As part of a year-long quest to gather donations for local children’s hospitals, the Hershey’s Kissmobile delivered two cases of candy Wednesday to Volunteer Jacksonville, which will be served at its annual award celebration April 11 at the Florida Theatre.

• The Landing will host its annual Earth Day Ecology Fair April 20 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
