• Terri Williams has been named regional vice president with responsibility for the Charlotte, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago offices of Special Counsel. Williams will manage and administer service delivery, client relations, and business development activities for Special Counsel in her specific regions. Legal solution services offered by Special Counsel include the temporary and direct hire placement of legal personnel, project management and support, as well as trial related services.

• Alex Lamis of Robert Stern Architects is the speaker at Monday’s Rotary Club meeting at the Omni. Dr. Joan Carver, who retired recently from Jacksonville University, is the speaker at the Meninak Club meeting.

• Announced attorney general candidates Locke Burt, Charlie Crist, Buddy Dyer, Scott Maddox, George Sheldon and Tom Warner are the scheduled speakers at The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors annual Legislative/Governmental Symposium May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Casa Monica Hotel & Resort in St. Augustine. The theme of this year’s symposium revolves around the balance of effective law enforcement and civil liberties after the tragic events of Sept. 11.

• Catherine M. Beaver has joined LBA Retirement Plan Services, LLC as senior plan administrator. She has over 20 years of experience in the pension and benefits industry and most recently served as manager of Quantech National Accounts with SunGard Corbel.
