The 19th annual “Jacksonville Day” in Tallahassee drew over 100 visitors to the state capitol Wednesday. It was a joint effort by the City and the Chamber of Commerce, and many of the City’s leaders were there to lobby legislators on local issues.

There was a Tuesday evening reception at the Florida Museum of History and the group convened early Wednesday morning for a briefing at the Governor’s Club. They then went into the Capitol to attend committee meetings and visits to legislative offices.

The group included City Council and School Board members, lobbyists and at least five representatives of the mayor’s office, including Mayor JOhn Delaney.

Chamber chair Lynn Pappas and her Government Affairs Committee chair, Janet Owen, led the briefings.

The visit ended with a luncheon barbeque in the Capitol courtyard.
