• First Coast Oncology is hosting a lunch and learn Jan. 15 at noon in Room 10-047 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Riverside. The topic is pain management for cancer patients. The speaker is a pain management specialist from Community Hospice. The lunch is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Lunch is provided. RSVP to 619-4768 before Jan. 13.

• The Exchange Club of Jacksonville is scheduled to meet Thursday at noon at the Hilton. Sherry Burns from Ch. 4 is the speaker. Cost is $11. For information, call 384-1948.

• Ted Ade, a personal financial planner with American Express Financial Advisors, has been selected as the 2002 president of the Financial Planning Association Jacksonville.

• The Sailboat Club will present a two-hour seminar Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m at Twin Lakes Academy on how to obtain a commercial captain’s license from the Coast Guard. The seminar will cover who is eligible, training schools, experience required, testing options and the application process. Capt. Robert Russo of the Blue Water Foundation is the speaker. • Communities In Charge will hold the first in a series of discussions about health insurance Jan. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Epping Forest Yacht Club. Questions on the agenda: How many uninsured live in Duval County? Who are they? Where do they live? What distinguishes them? How does Duval County compare with other Florida counties regarding this issue?
