Do you want to go to Las Vegas but you don’t have time to spend a week out of town? Are you still searching for a great gift for your better half for Valentine’s Day? Are you tired of spending your Saturday nights at home with nothing to do? We have a solution for ALL of these problems- The Jacksonville Bar Association’s Night In Vegas!
This event will be held at The Cummer Museum of Arts and Gardens on Feb. 9 (the weekend before Valentine’s Day). We will have a great band, great food, lots of drinks and all sorts of fabulous silent auction items.
Let’s give you a run down of how the evening will work:
Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks will be served from 10:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The band Mid-Life Crisis will play dance music from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
As you enter the Cummer, you will check in and receive an information package. This package will include $10,000 to use to gamble the night away, one raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing to be held at the end of the evening, one ticket for the drawings for “consolation prizes” to be held throughout the night, and a list of all of our silent auction items.
The more “money” you win during the evening, the better your chances of winning the grand prize. You will turn in all of your winnings at the end of the evening and receive one ticket for every $1,000 acquired throughout the evening. If you lose all of your money (I am sure some of you will) you still have a chance for the grand prize. Remember the ticket that was given to you when you checked in? This way everyone has a chance to win the grand prize!
The silent auction will be open from 7:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. We will close the auction at that time and announce the “best bids”. (Here is when you can take care of that Valentine’s Day situation!)
Now that you have an idea of how much fun we will be having at the Cummer Feb. 9, write it on your calendar and purchase your tickets. Call all of your friends and tell them to come to Vegas with you! If you have any questions, please call the Bar office at 399-4486.
