Casa Dora moves to new location

• Casa Dora Italian Restaurant opened in its new location this week at the site of the old Hollywood Grille a few doors west of the Florida Theatre. Owner Sam Hamidi moved from his old spot on Bay Street to accommodate more customers.

• Jennifer Watson has joined Ford & Harrison, a national labor and employment firm, as an associate. She was previously with the firm of Schutt Humphries.

• Edwards and Keleey, an engineering, design and construction management firm headquartered in Morristown, N.J., has purchased Aikenhead & Odom, a local engineering firm.

• The annual Guns N’ Hoses Fight Night is scheduled for March 29 at the University of North Florida Arena. Doors open a 6 p.m. and the fights begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds benefit the Police Athletic League and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. • Insurance executive J.F. Bryan has been named to the advisory board of the Ronald McDonald House.

• The Rotaract Club of Florida’s First Coast is hosting a membership drive for professionals ages 22-35 April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Haskell Building. Scott Keith of SunTrust Bank is the speaker. For information, call Paola Parra at 398-9002.

• Summit Contractors has named Bernie Cornelius vice president and division manager for its South Florida division.

• The annual Paws in the Park pet walk is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. the University of North Florida Nature Trails. Cost is $25 in advance, $30 at the gate. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society. For information, call 724-7824.

• CenterBank of Jacksonville, a specialty bank focusing on the needs of small business owners, named Barbara Dawson Murphy as the bank’s vice president relationship manager. Murphy comes to CenterBank with over 25 years of banking experience. Prior to joining CenterBank, Murphy was a branch manager, lender and business banker in the Mandarin and Baymeadows area at American National Bank for 17 years prior to the SouthTrust buyout.

• The annual First Coast Conference on Child Maltreatment is scheduled for April 10, 11 and 12 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Cost is $200 before March 20, $250 after March 20. Topics for discussion include prevention, recognition, assessment and treatment of child abuse. Speakers include Dr. Bob Reece, Lt. Bill Walsh and attorney Jay Howell.
