The Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art held a Hard Hat Party last week. Guests toured the six-floor building bordering Hemming Plaza to get a look at what the completed structure will look like. Exhibitions and hands-on activities such as figure drawing, pencil rubbings and a graffiti wall for painting were mixed in with new regional art, ceramics and printmaking demonstrations and a real-time video installation. Plastic hard hats were given as souvenirs. Renovations to the building are expected to be complete next year.
