Breakfast honors domestic violence victims

The Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast Tuesday morning at the Radisson drew 650 people to kick off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The breakfast celebrated those who are surviving, as well as the memory of Barbara Ann Campbell, the sister-in-law of former Mayor Jake Godbold, who was killed in an act of domestic violence. This year’s keynote speaker was Connie May Fowler, author of “Before Women Had Wings,” and a domestic violence survivor.
