Six people are participating in a two-week training session for Downtown Vision’s Downtown Ambassador program. Assuming they pass a final test today, they will join the eight current ambassadors, who have roamed the city offering friendly advice and information since the program began last October. “We’re really trying to keep our eye on everything and to be watchful of downtown activity,” said trainee Darren Sirmans. Senior Ambassadors Celeste Harrell and Burt Pringle led the group on a downtown tour Thursday as part of their training. Harrell instructed the trainees about the happenings in Hemming Plaza, while stressing the importance of friendly service. Trainees (from left): Ron Sellers, Sharah Anderson, Lydia Cobbert, Ardise Hall, Ray Hollister and Ted Burnson.
