• Condolences to Property Appraiser Jim Overton on the death of his father. Also passing away: 50-year Florida bar member Sperry Lee.

• Gator fans will have at least one daytime game: the Tennessee tilt will start at noon on Sept. 20 in Gainesville.

• Enrollment for the City’s proposed fitness center needs to increase by about 100 employees by Sept. 30 or construction plans will cease.

• City Council president Lad Daniels has chosen “Faces of Jacksonville” as a theme for the art he’ll have installed in Council chambers during his term as president. It was also the theme of the Council installation ceremony earlier this month.

• Employees at nGenworks in San Marco are taking advantage of its location and large store-front windows by posting large messages to folks passing by. There’s an e-mail address listed for folks to send in their own comments, which may then be posted and/or answered on the window. A recent sign refers to someone who commented on the window’s first sign last week, which was “Hello.”

• She’s only been on the job for just under two weeks, but Michele Querry, Mayor John Peyton’s Council liaison, is moving to the mail room. No, she’s not being demoted, Steve Diebenow, chief of policy and government affairs, asked that the room be converted into Querry’s office because it’s closer to his.

• Camille Booth, an account executive from the Dalton Agency, orders the same drink every time she goes to Bistro Aix. She loves it so much that they’ve named it after her. “The Camille,” which makes its debut today, is a mixture of Kettle One Vodka, sour mix and a lime.

• Several of the Jacksonville Suns will be sporting a new look before their Aug. 1 game at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. They’re participating in the Share-A-Haircut campaign that donates haircuts to local underprivileged children and will get their hair trimmed and styled before the game.
