City Council president-elect Lad Daniels announced his committee assignments Tuesday morning at City Hall.
Daniels created one new committee — Audit — to give more focus and detailed oversight to the Council auditor’s office.
He also combined two committees, Public Health, Safety and Education with Public Services, Technology and Utilities to create the Public Health, Safety and Utilities Committee.
Here are the Committee assignments:
Finance
Warren Alvarez, chair; Jerry Holland, vice chair; Elaine Brown, Gwen Yates, Lake Ray, Michael Corrigan and Glorious Johnson.
Recreation, Community Development and Education
Daniel Davis, chair; Gwen Yates, vice chair; Elaine Brown, Faye Rustin, Kevin Hyde, Mia Jones and Art Shad.
Rules
Michael Corrigan, chair; Lynette Self, vice chair; Lake Ray, Daniel Davis, Art Graham, Kevin Hyde and Mia Jones.
Audit
Faye Rustin, chair; Art Shad, vice chair; Lynette Self, Warren Alvarez, Suzanne Jenkins, Sharon Copeland and Mia Jones.
Land Use and Urban Zoning
Jerry Holland, chair; Sharon Copeland, vice chair; Elaine Brown, Warren Alvarez, Reggie Fullwood, Michael Corrigan and Art Shad.
Transportation, Environment, Energy and Technology

Daniels said he met with each Council member and used the meetings to determine individual interests and talents in making the appointments.
