High demand for reservations to the 2003 Realtor/Builder Luncheon has prompted the event co-hosts, the Sales & Marketing Council of the Northeast Florida Builders Association and the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, to acquire additional space at Jacksonville’s Osborn Center for the annual luncheon and tradeshow on Thursday, Oct. 16. The additional space will accommodate additional booths and up to 1,300 luncheon guests.

“We knew from the beginning that this year’s Realtor/Builder Luncheon was going to be a huge success,” said Maxine McBride, event co-chair and SMC representative. “With two of the industry’s most respected leaders as our guest speakers, we knew we had a winning combination that would get people excited about participating.”

The speakers will be the presidents of two of the nation’s largest associations: Kent Conine of the National Association of Home Builders and Jacksonville’s Cathy Whatley of the National Association of Realtors.

McBride will moderate the 30-minute discussion between Conine, Whatley and luncheon guests. During the discussion, Conine and Whatley will discuss current industry trends, future trends and answer questions submitted by luncheon guests.

“Opening Doors” is the theme for this year’s event, which will also be the theme for the booth contest. During the booth contest, the company with the most creative Opening Doors-themed booth will be awarded a trophy and a $2,000 check for a charity of choice to be presented during the luncheon by Conine and Whatley. The second place winner will also receive a trophy and a check for $500 to make a charitable donation.

Booths and sponsorships are still available for companies wishing to participate. The cost is $650 per booth. For information on booths or sponsorships, contact Portland Stuart at NEFBA at 421-0298. For luncheon reservations, contact Celeta McClamma at NEFAR at 394-9494 ext. 1201.
