About 100 gifts from the Jacksonville Bar Association’s holiday project remain to be delivered so the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is offering a helping hand.

For more than 10 years, the JBA’s members have been collecting and delivering gifts to underprivileged people in the community that might not otherwise receive any gifts during the holiday season. This year the association was able to provide gifts to about 500 people.

While most members deliver their gifts personally, about 100 gifts were still stacked in a board room at the JBA’s office in Riverplace Tower on the Southbank on Friday morning.

Two officers from the JSO, Chris Wyatt and Gary Oliveras, acted as Santa Friday and helped the JBA deliver the remaining presents. Wyatt and Oliveras had to make several trips but still couldn’t get all of the presents delivered. Two more JSO officers will deliver the last of the presents today.
