Sterling Capital Partners and Florida Coastal School of Law hosted a reception last week to commemorate Sterling’s acquisition of the law school. Sterling’s purchase of FCSL made it the first fully accredited law school to be obtained by private capital. An afternoon filled with special events preceded the reception. Willie Gary, once a migrant and now a millionaire and attorney, spoke to the students. Rapheal Prevot Jr., assistant general counsel for the National Football League, and Richard Karcher, visiting professor at FCSL, sat on a sports law panel with FCSL’s Nancy Hogshead-Makar, professor of law and triple Olympic gold medalist. Donald Jones, FCSL’s assistant dean for Student and Multicultural Affairs, was joined on an employment law panel by Professor Michael Dinnerstein and Eric Jones.
