The Northeast Florida chapter of The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties held a spring golf outing last month at Oak Bridge Golf Club at Sawgrass. About 85 members participated in the event, which was chaired by Phillip Parsons and Forrest Ozburn of Colliers Dickinson.

The winners were Kate Clifford of Coldwell Banker Commercial Nicholson-Williams Realty, Jim Citrano, Jr. of Wachovia, Bill Evans and Curtis Loftin of Capital Partners.

“I thought the turnout was great,” said T. Fitch King III of Morgar Realty and president of the Northeast Florida chapter. “We had a good turnout for a members-only spring event. We wanted to give the members a chance to have fun and play some golf. The golf course, which was recently redone, was very nice and the facility was nice. It was a great event for everyone to get together and enjoy an afternoon of golf and networking.”

Proceeds from the event went to benefit the NAIOP scholarship fund for the University of North Florida.

“It’s for two students a year in a real estate related major,” said King.

The proceeds from Mulligan sales [sales for extra shots] went to Area Developers Political Action Committee.

“The money we raised is being used to fight the ‘Home Town Democracy issue’,” said Phillip Parsons of Colliers Dickinson and co-chair of the event. “As Realtors we feel that this is the worse issue facing the citizens of Florida and feel we need to get the word out explaining what this issue is really about. You cannot have every citizens voting on every planning request or change.”
