RD Express, a full-service pharmacy at the Landing, held its grand opening Monday.
“We actually managed to open a little early when everyone was here over the weekend,” said Pharmacist Reginald Dawson (above right), who owns the business. “It was crazy, but we did really well, much better than I would have imagined.”
Dawson, a pharmacist for over 19 years, has lived in Jacksonville for over a decade. He said he got the urge to come downtown once he realized he would have virtually no competition.
“That played a big part in my decision to do this,” he said. “There are over 50,000 people who live, work and play downtown and there’s no place like us here right now.
“I saw that there was a need and I went for it.”
Open Monday through Saturday and offering free delivery, Dawson said all name brand medicines are available and all medical plans accepted.
“It’s exciting, but I love what I do,” he said. “We think we’re going to be a good fit for the Landing and downtown. Stop by anytime and feel free to pick up all of your prescriptions with us.”
