• The Jacksonville Bar Association is gearing up for its annual Holiday Project to provide gifts for needy senior citizens. • If westbound rush hour traffic on Atlantic Boulevard seemed much heavier than normal Tuesday evening it was because Jags quarterback Byron Leftwich was signing autographs at a Sprint store in one of the strip malls, drawing quite a crowd.
• Tickets are now available for the Super Bowl Kick-Off party Jan. 31 at the Arena. Call TicketMaster for prices.
• Total attendance at the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair was 402,423, down from 482,522 last year. The change in dates from October to November and several major events at the same time at the Arena are the reasons cited for the drop.
• Firefighters at several downtown fire stations had a Thanksgiving feast courtesy of the Adam’s Mark Hotel. The culinary staff at the hotel prepared 300 pounds of turkey, 200 pounds of mashed potatoes, 150 pounds of green beans, 15 gallons of cranberry sauce and 40 different desserts for the feast.
