The Northeast Florida Builders Association honored two members for their dedication of time and effort to the recent “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” rebuild in Hastings.
Kevin Gray of Residential Designs by Kevin Gray was honored as the association’s member of the month for February, and Bryan Lendry of Brylen Homes was named member of the month for March. Both men were recognized for their dedication to the project in the weeks before the project began and during the week of filming.
Gray took on the challenge of designing the Harvey’s new 4,280-square-foot home to accommodate the six-member family’s needs.
Lendry was responsible for organizing the hundreds of volunteers and coordinating the entire project with ABC TV’s staff of producers, on-camera talent and construction crews.
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Lendry said. “We were able to participate in a production that will bring Builders Care and its mission to millions of people. Our goal was always more than building one home for a deserving family. Our goal was to bring attention to the issue of substandard housing and to show the world what can be accomplished when people work together to help the community – that’s what Builders Care is all about.”
