A team from LandMar Group LLC raised the most money in a recent Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce initiative called Power of Partnerships. The annual fundraising drive helps generate non-dues revenue for various Chamber community and economic development programs.
The LandMar team generated more than $37,000 for the Chamber - surpassing its goal of $13,500 by nearly 300 percent and helping the chamber exceed its own revenue goals. As part of its prize, the LandMar team of Brian Turner, Memorie Stastny, Bard Reynolds and John Afflebach was awarded a cash prize. Instead of pocketing the money, however, the team decided to contribute the prize money to the Monique Burr Foundation.
“We donated the money we earned through the Chamber program to the foundation because we believe it touches the lives of so many local children and their families,” said Stastny. “We feel fortunate to work for a company that places a high emphasis on community and we were inspired to support the foundation as a continuation of that company philosophy.”
The Monique Burr Foundation for Children was founded by LandMar Group CEO and President Ed Burr. The foundation works in partnership with agencies whose primary focus is preventing sexual abuse of children.
The Power of Partnerships is a Chamber fundraising competition supported by business leaders throughout Northeast Florida. Participants sell sponsorships and advertising opportunities that fund programs and services of the Chamber. This year’s fund drive raised more than $250,000 for the Chamber.
“Memorie Stastny, Brian Turner and the team at LandMar were instrumental to the success of the Chamber’s Power of Partnerships campaign,” said Chamber president Wally Lee. “Their leadership in this important fundraising effort will pay dividends for Northeast Florida as the Chamber is able to expand programs that maximize our economic development success.”
