The Peninsula helped to bring the joy of Christmas to numerous children in the Jacksonville community this year through the Toys for Tots program. Throughout this holiday season, the community’s sales center served as a drop-off location for toy donations.
“Toys for Tots is dedicated to delivering a message of hope and bringing the joy of Christmas to needy children,” said Sgt. James A. Dorsey of the U.S. Marine Corps. “We are excited to have The Peninsula join us in our efforts this year and hopefully for years to come.”
Toys for Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps‚ premier community action program and one of the nation’s flagship Christmas charitable causes. Started in Los Angeles in 1947, Toys for Tots is now in 456 communities throughout the nation. Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year for needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
“The Peninsula is proud to support The U.S. Marine Corps‚ Toys for Tots program,” said Robert MacKilligan, the community’s sales manager. “We want to thank everyone who participated, and we hope that this will become a community tradition.”
