The Ponte Vedra Council celebrated the holidays with a luncheon at the Sawgrass Beach Club. Robert Leverock of the Gator Bowl Association talked to the Realtors about the economic impact of the Toyota Gator Bowl and the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Jacksonville and real estate.
“I feel very confident that we will bring in excess of $70 million over economic impact to the city,” he said. “There will be a lot of people coming in, especially this first year, to see what Jacksonville has to offer. We will make sure that we hold first class events, just like the Toyota Gator Bowl to ensure that they come back here.”
Also during the meeting, the group welcomed its new vice president, Scott Williams, broker of Ponte Vedra Club Realty.
“Rob Kearney called me to ask me if I would do this, and I said yes, probably too quickly,” joked Williams. “I hope it will be an enjoyable year. I’m looking forward to the challenge. I look forward to working with all of you over the next year. I would like to make this thoughtful and develop these meetings into large gatherings with good speakers so you look forward to it each quarter.”
