Fabio Mechetti’s office is becoming more of a workspace every day. At one time, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra’s musical director often worked from home. However, now that he’s the proud father of twin baby girls, Mechetti said that working outside of the house is a lot more practical.

“I’m here a lot more than I used to because it tends to be a bit more quiet,” Mechetti joked. “But I also enjoy this office because of its close proximity to the concert hall. Many times after performances we can invite sponsors back here for intimate gatherings. It’s a nice way to spend an evening.”

Mechetti’s workspace can best be described as cozy, though the soft lighting and quiet atmosphere make it no less impressive than a corner office in a skyscraper.

“When I decorated my office I wanted to display my history, where I’ve come from,” he said. “If you look around you’ll find that the chapters of my life from years ago until today can be found.

“Now if I could just get some windows in here.”
