LandMar Group recently welcomed its 500th family - Marcos and Jeanette Matos and their four children - to South Hampton, the company’s golf course community in St. Johns County.

“Reaching this milestone of welcoming our 500th resident to South Hampton is a wonderful testament to the successful combination of this community’s location, impressive list of builders, amenities and residents who take pride in making a true connection with their neighbors,” said LandMar Vice President of Marketing Jim Doyle.

“We like that South Hampton is built around a golf course,” Jeanette Matos said. “It is more spacious than many of the other neighborhoods we looked at. We also like that we are so close to I-95 without having to be in the middle of the congestion. There is plenty of area shopping and Marcos has a short commute to work in the Southside. We have quick access to St. Augustine and downtown Jacksonville.”

The Matos bought the Kayla Isle design by Mercedes Homes, a two-story home with 3,567 square feet of living space. The home has four bedrooms and a study that can be used as a fifth bedroom. It also has a sunroom, loft and media room.

“We have a large family and we needed a generously proportioned home,” Jeanette said. “We fell in love with the Kayla Isle floor plan because it is a sizeable home at the right price. We recognize the tremendous value for our money in South Hampton.”

“Welcoming our residents and helping to facilitate the community connection is important to us,” said LandMar Community Services Manager Memorie Stastny. “We have a personal interest in our residents that goes far beyond the sale of their home. We make sure they are welcomed to the community, have a connection with the people in the neighborhood and the resources they need to get involved at whatever level they would like.”

South Hampton’s Resident Ambassador Program is designed to welcome new residents to the community shortly after they move-in. New homeowners receive a gift basket containing South Hampton license plates, ball caps and T-shirts featuring the community logo as well as discount coupons to area businesses and restaurants, and a LandMar Homeowner Survey.

“We noticed how friendly the people here are right away,” Jeanette said. “Some of our neighbors have even brought over cookies to welcome us to the neighborhood.”
