Middle Eastern construction and engineering firm ACES Group announced April 20 its U.S. subsidiary finalized its acquisition of Jacksonville-based Meskel & Associates Engineering.
In a news release, ACES Group said the acquisition supports the firm’s strategic plans for “expanding the corporation’s presence in the US and significantly enhancing its capabilities in Florida and Georgia.”
ACES Group, whose acronym stands for Arab Center for Engineering Studies, was founded in Amman, Jordan, where it remains headquartered.
The group acquired North Carolina-based MC2 Engineers Inc. in 2022, also as part of its U.S. expansion strategy. MC2 specializes in geotechnical, heavy civil and construction‑services engineering.
According to the release, MAE will work with MC2 Engineers on infrastructure projects for the federal government, Florida Department of Transportation, local city and county governments, municipalities and general contractors, plus industrial and commercial developers.
The release said Meskel employs a staff of more than 50 employees providing geotechnical engineering, construction engineering and inspection (CEI), materials testing, subsurface exploratory drilling and environmental consulting services.
The acquisition was through ACES US Holding Inc.
Tina Meskel, president of Meskel & Associates Engineering, said in the release that becoming part of ACES “gives our team a broader platform, deeper resources, and expanded opportunities for growth.”
“We are proud of what we’ve built and energized by what we will build together,” she said.
