Members of the Amelia Island/Nassau County Association of Realtors had a chance to get some things off their chests and ask questions during last month’s meeting in the association’s auditorium.

Among the topics discussed were a new education fee and education issues, involvement in the board, code of ethics and accuracy of multiple listing service input.

Also during the meeting, the Association awarded more than $8,500 to nine local civic organizations. The funds were raised at the association’s inaugural “Mad Monday” Charity Golf Shoot-out last April.

“It is our privilege and pleasure to support these wonderful organizations who contribute so much to our quality of life,” said Grace Lipman, chairwoman of the golf tournament.

Representatives from Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club of Nassau County, Communities in Schools, Joy to the Children, Micah’s Place, Nassau Friends of Scouting, Nassau Habitat for Humanity and Nassau County Volunteer Center were on hand as Lipman and association president Presley Hollingsworth presented the checks.

“The Realtors are proud to donate to local organizations which also do so much for our community,” said Hollingsworth. “We actively participate in improving life here, and gladly contribute to other organizations working with us for all of Nassau County.”
