Florida Coastal School of Law

• Something is in the water at Florida Coastal. More than 80 percent of Florida Coastal graduates that took the Florida Bar Exam for the first time in July passed. That makes FCSL the leader in bar passage among all of Florida’s law schools.

• Along with 400 additional students this year, FCSL is also home to 10 new faculty members. The new professors are Laura Boeckman of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid; Bruce Burton, former dean at William Mitchell College of Law; Kirsten Clement of Marks Gray P.A.; John Greenman of Weil, Gotshal and Manges; Susan Harthill of Steptoe and Johnson LLP; Darren Latham of Syracuse University College of Law and Rutgers School of Law; Gwendolyn Roberts Majette of Howard University School of Law; Nicola Sharpe of Shearman and Sterling LLP; Brian Slocum of the Department of Justice; and Jeffrey Thompson of Duquesne University Law School.

Florida State University College of Law

• For the second consecutive year, Hispanic Business magazine has ranked FSU’s College of Law among the top 10 law schools in the nation for Hispanics, who made up 9 percent of the school’s 748-member body in 2004-2005.
