The Florida Bar recently certified eight Jacksonville area attorneys. Overall, The Bar certified 131 Florida lawyers as specialists in 19 areas of legal practice. Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice.

“Board certification is synonymous with the terms ‘specialist’ and ‘expert’ for good reason,” said Florida Bar President Hank Coxe. “Theprogram maintains high standards for experience and integrity to help the public identify lawyers who strive for professional excellence.”

The local attorneys that were certified by The Bar are:

Melissa M. Gross-Arnold, City, County and Local Government; Raymond Scott Costantino and Gregory David Prysock, Civil Trial; Reese John Henderson Jr., Construction Law; Shawn Alan Arnold, Criminal Trial; Elizabeth Daley Shaw, Health Law; Marvin Cuthrell Kloeppel, Tax Law; and Douglass Edward Myers Jr., Workers’ Compensation Law.

Certified attorneys are the only Florida lawyers allowed to identify or advertise themselves as “Florida Bar Board Certified,”as specialists or asexperts. Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.
