Centex teams with UNF

Centex Homes has joined the University of North Florida to sponsor a housing and development course.  A requirement for those seeking a degree in Building Construction Management at UNF, the course provides students an opportunity to specialize in residential development. Fifty students currently are taking the course.

Centex Homes has signed an agreement with UNF for the next three years, offering two semesters throughout each year.  Supporting the Building Construction Management major, the program offers four career paths; housing, commercial, civil and green sustainable building.  The housing and development course provides the students with the opportunity to see how a major builder looks for land, buys it, develops it and then finishes the project through the entire construction process.

Engle Homes introduces “Home of the Week”

A newly created sales initiative at Engle Homes affords local Realtors the opportunity to increase their bottom line with an Engle home sale.

Called “Home of the Week,” the Realtor-only sales program features a special home in every Engle Homes community each week. The real estate professional who sells this particular home receives an additional point on their commission. “The real estate community has been vital to the success of our home sales,” said Greg Souris, vice president of sales and marketing for Engle Homes. “This program is one way to generate traffic and reward local Realtors at the same time.”

Upon visiting an Engle Homes community, Realtors will be informed by the Engle Homes new home consultant of which residence is the Realtor “home of the week.” The company is also informing the Realtor community about the specifics and locations of qualifying homes through email communication and media advertising.

Engle Homes builds in Northeast Florida, including Whitfield at OakLeaf Plantation, WaterLeaf, Heritage Landing at World Golf Village, Jacob’s Way, Parque Diane, Dunn Creek Pointe, Silver Creek, Waterbrook Falls, Rolling River, Caney Branch Plantation, Hillcrest and Amhurst Oaks.

Mattamy opens model

Mattamy Homes recently opened a furnished model home at Worthington Park.

“This model home gives homebuyers a fine taste of what it means to live in a Mattamy home; we could not be more proud of the way this home has been designed,” said Tami MacKinnon, vice president of sales and marketing for Mattamy Homes. “We invite anyone interested in purchasing a home in northern St. Johns County to visit Worthington Park, meet our experienced sales agent and just enjoy the interior beauty of this magnificent home.”

The home, a 3,018-square-foot Taylor floor plan, was decorated by Jacksonville-based Sisler Johnston Interior Design. Mattamy Homes is offering homes in Worthington Park on 90- and 100-foot homesites, with pricing starting in the mid-$400s.
