Hundreds of members of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the local judiciary gathered last week at the Aetna Building for the annual Bench and Bar party. The party takes the place of the December JBA meeting and gives JBA members an opportunity to mingle outside of the courthouse. Every judge in the Fourth Judicial Circuit attended the event, as did 300 or more attorneys.
The bar will go back to regularly-scheduled Bar meetings next month. Mayor John Peyton is the guest speaker Jan. 25, while Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Fred Lewis will be in town Feb. 16.
