Seeking judicial applicants for 4th circuit

Applications are being sought to fill a judicial vacancy in the County Court of Duval County as a result of the vacancy caused by the appointment of Judge Mallory Cooper to the Circuit Court.

An applicant must be a registered Florida voter and have been a member in good standing of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years. In addition, any applicant chosen by the Governor must reside in Duval County upon assuming office. Application forms are available by downloading the application from The Florida Bar’s Web site: www.FloridaBar.org or from the commission chair, Mary Bland Love, Esquire, 815 South Main Street, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32207; phone (904)393-9007.

An original and nine copies of the completed application must be received by Ms. Love no later than (noon) on Feb. 17 at 815 South Main Street, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.

Interviews will take place on Feb. 27 in the Duval County Courthouse, Room 220. Applications will be screened by the Fourth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, which must send at least three names to the Governor.

Members currently serving on the Fourth Judicial Nominating Committee are: Mary Bland Love, Chair, Joel B. Toomey, Vice Chair, Peter Sleiman; Angela Corey; Michael Stokes; Cleve Warren; Terrance James; David Wells and J. William Prichard Jr.
