FCSL moot court team tops in state

The moot court team from Florida Coastal School of Law has won the Orseck Moot Court Competition for the second year in a row and an FCSL team also finished second. The winning team members included Emilia Walker, Lawrence Perrone and Grant Zacharias. The runner-up team consisted of Sunny Awla, Jared Potter and Eileen Lacivita. The competition was held in conjunction with this year’s annual Florida Bar meetings in Boca Raton.

Krechowski joins Lewis, Longman & Walker

Patrick Krechowski has joined Lewis, Longman & Walker as an associate where he will focus on environmental, land use and coastal construction law. Previously, he was the assistant general counsel for the St. Johns River Management District. Krechowski is a graduate of Florida State University and received his law degree in 1998 from Nova Southeastern University

CLEs in Jacksonville

Two CLE seminars will be in town next month. Aug. 22, the Hyatt will host a day-long eminent domain class. Speakers include Michael Roy, the vice president of Lampe, Roy & Associates, Bruce Page of the Office of General Counsel, Maureen Jones of Rogers Towers, Joel Settembrini Jr. of Smith Hulsey & Busey and Kenneth Davis, the district general counsel for the Florida Department of Transportation, Dist. 2. Aug. 31, the Omni is hosting a public records and open meetings class. Speakers include Sidney Ansbacher of Upchurch, Bailey and Upchurch in St. Augustine, Robert Dees of Milam Howard Nicardi Dees & Gillam, Suzanne Meyer Judas of Holland & Knight and Howard McGillin Jr. of Brennan, Manna & Diamond.
