The Meetinghouse at Collins Cove, an adult 55-plus apartment community, is now open on Jacksonville’s Westside.
Managed by Banyan Realty and developed by Jacksonville Beach-based Finlay Development LLC, The Meetinghouse at Collins Cove is a 160-unit gated community designed specifically for limited-income residents aged 55 and over. In some instances, however, residents may be as young as 45.
“We have had tremendous response from adults throughout the East Coast who are eager to live in a new apartment home in one of the area’s most convenient and active areas,” said Marilyn Nix, area manager for Banyan Realty Management Inc.
The homes available for rent at The Meetinghouse at Collins Cove range in size from a 697-square-foot, one-bedroom design to a 1,026-square-foot two-bedroom home. Kitchens in the residences have been outfitted with appliances - self cleaning ovens, refrigerators with ice makers and dishwashers. The kitchen areas also include a breakfast bar and feature large pantries and washer/dryer hook ups. There is vinyl flooring in the homes’ bathrooms and kitchen areas.
Carpeting covers floors of most living areas. Some of the homes offer balconies and solariums and a select few are wheelchair accessible. There are two elevators in each of the four, three-story buildings at the community.
The community’s clubhouse has a big screen television, designer swimming pool and lounge deck, fitness center, computer room and library. The staff has planned many activities for the residents including bingo tournaments, card games and pizza and movie events. Once a month, new residents will be welcomed by other tenants and management staff with a cookout at the community barbeque area.
