Arnold Tritt of the Northeast Florida Builders Association was awarded the Dick Baker Award, which goes to an individual who personifies the spirit of the industry, at the recent Florida Association of Home Builders meeting in Naples.
The award is named after former NEFBA President Dick Baker.
Tritt recently resigned as NEFBA executive director after 34 years of service but remains with the association in the role of executive advisor.
Tritt has won numerous Association Executive Achievement Awards including the National Association of Home Builders Executive Officers Award and the Seldon Hale Executive Officer of the Year honor.

Other honors were passed out at the Naples meeting and the 2007 officers were introduced:
• Betsy Godfrey, president of Godfrey Design Consultants, Inc. of Orlando, and Howard Head, the founder of Bonded Builders Home Warranty in Port Charlotte, were inducted into the Florida Housing Hall of Fame.
• The new slate of officers include President John Wiseman, a Sarasota builder; First Vice President Robert Parrish, a Tallahassee builder; Second Vice President Mike Rahn, a Sarasota mortgage banker; Treasurer Dave Armstrong, a Melbourne builder; Secretary Chuck Fowke, a Brandon builder; Third Vice President Ann Hagen, Mid-Florida Director of Sales and Marketing for Bonded Builders Risk Management; Associate Vice President Ted Brase, a Sarasota builder; Immediate Past President Len Tylka, a builder and engineer from West Palm Beach; and Immediate Past Second Vice President Michelle Delaney, an Orlando insurance agent.
• Bill Slavich, a Collier County home builder, was named the Builder of the Year.
• Al Wahbey, a Naples remodelor with A.K. Construction, Inc., was named Remodelor of the Year.
• Mike Dannenhauer, owner-agent in the Fort Myers-based Five County Insurance Agency, was named the 2006 Associate (non-builder) of the Year.
