JALA getting support
Three local law firms have reached the 100 percent participation level in Jacksonville Area Legal Aid’s “10-Four: Injustice Over and Out” fundraising campaign. The firms are: Pajcic & Pajcic, Liles Gavin Costantino & George and Milton Leach Whitman D’Andrea Charek & Milton.
Five selected as “Best”
The law firm of Coffman, Coleman, Andrews & Grogan recently had five of its attorneys named to the list of “The Best Lawyers in America 2007” — a distinction given annually by Woodward White, Inc. The lawyers recognized are: Bill Andrews, Pat Coleman, Mike Grogan, Eric Holshouser and Bob Riegel. Additionally, Andrews and Coleman are on the best lawyers in America list for over 20 years.
Firm additions
Attorneys and counselors at law Jason K.S. Porter have added Wendy J. Coleman to their Hendricks Avenue firm. Coleman will practice in the areas of marital and family law. The firm will also continue its criminal defense and personal injury practice.
The Delegal Law Office have added a West Coast attorney to the firm. Elizabeth M. Oakes recently joined the firm after coming to Jacksonville from San Francisco. Oakes was with the firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. Prior to that, she was a law clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge Wayne D. Brazil of the Northern District of California.
Florida Supreme Court seeking applicants
The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission is accepting applications for two Capital Collateral Regional Counsels who will be appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush and will serve in the middle and southern regions of the state. Applicants must be in good standing with The Florida Bar or a similar organization in another state for the past five years, among other qualifications. Application are due Sept. 29 and interviews will be Oct. 6 in Tampa at The Florida Bar offices in the Tampa Airport Marriott. See the Bar’s Web site for more information.
