• The Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League team will hold a three-day training camp beginning 6 p.m. Friday. The camp is open to all potential players who believe they have what it takes to play a sport that requires full contact with minimal pads and leather balls. The Friday session of the camp will be held on the Jaguars’ practice field adjacent to Municipal Stadium. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. • A free audition master class for students who would like to perform in the Jacksonville Ballet Theatre’s 2007-08 season will be held Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Boleros Arts Center at 1031 Atlantic Blvd. Dancers must be 11-14 years old with at least three years of ballet, one year of pointe. • Now, cut that out!: Veteran stage and television actor Eddie Carroll will bring his award-winning one-man show, “Jack Benny — Laughter in Bloom,” to the Wilson Center for the Arts on the South Campus of Florida Community College at Jacksonville for three performances Friday-Sunday. • The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville will begin its Summer Cinema nights on May 23 with the film, “Brazil.” Every Wednesday from May 23-Aug. 15 a film will be shown at 7 p.m. in the museum’s auditorium. On the second Wednesday of each month, MOCA Summer Cinema will feature guest speakers.
• The University of North Florida Women’s Center will present Florida artist David La Cagnina tonight at 6 in the Robinson Theatre at UNF. La Cagnina will have some of his artwork on display and he will be speaking about “A Reflection on the Yin: Under the Florida Sea.” His art will be on display through May 2. The event is free and open to the public.
• About 1,600 second through fifth graders from Duval County Public Schools will be Downtown today for the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (JSYO) third annual “Kids for Kids” concert. The JSYO Philharmonic will be performing. The JSYO students will also have the chance to talk to the audience about how they got interested in music. The concert begins at 10 a.m. at the T-U Center.
• Saturday is Clean Air Day at the Museum of Science and History. MOSH and the City of Jacksonville’s Environmental Protection Board will have activities going on throughout the museum. The event is free and runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
