Young Lawyers bring "holiday" cheer

Twenty-five local foster children were the beneficiaries of donations from the members of the local business community and the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Jacksonville Bar Association. Late last month, the YLS joined Family Support Services of North Florida, Inc. for their annual “Holiday in January” party. The kids got gifts, good food, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus himself. One of the biggest hits was the bikes (above) that each child received. The Northeast Florida Paralegal Association provided crafts and activities for the kids. “To me and my colleagues, the greatest reward was the smiles on the kids’ faces when they saw the gifts and outpouring of support from the community,” said James Birr, chair of the Holiday in January project and YLS member.
