The words “pending regulatory approval” are often uttered by Harry Trevett. The chairman of the First Bank of Jacksonville, president of Trevett Mock Real Estate, Trevett & Associates Real Estate Group, Trevett Homes Inc., and Trevett Construction Group Inc., is often waiting for some governing body to approve one of his vast undertakings.
His current projects include: a 14,500-square-foot retail center on San Pablo Road; 10,000-square-foot office space facility in Amelia Island; a seven-acre parcel in St. Augustine; and an 11,000 square foot facility in Lakewood that — pending regulatory approval — will be the fourth branch office of the First Bank of Jacksonville and possible headquarters of Trevett Mock Real Estate.
Whether it’s in his Baymeadows office, Amelia Island office or his preferred Deerwood home office, Trevett awaits approval in style.
“I wanted a really nice office in the house,” he said.
Trevett’s home sits on three acres inside the quiet, natural surroundings of Deerwood Country Club.
Six years ago, Trevett added an extra wing to the house to create a eclectic and spacious work environment where he often holds court with clients, consultants and business partners.
Immediately through the office’s French doors, there’s an exercise room with sauna, which currently acts as another bookshelf for paperwork. There’s a bedroom downstairs that his son frequents and upstairs there’s a billiards room and home theater, complete with fiber-optic twinkle lights in the ceiling.
In all, the office addition to his home took as long as it takes to build a house — about six to nine months. It was built six years after the family moved in.
“It’s like Man Land,” said Trevett.
Trevett spends most of his Monday mornings at his home office, with meetings in the afternoons. On Tuesdays, Trevett focuses on real estate; Wednesday, the bank; Thursdays, he’s off and Friday mornings are meetings before he heads to the golf course.
