City Council will begin the laborious task of examining Mayor John Peyton’s nearly $960 million budget next month. Art Shad, chair of the Council Finance committee, has set the schedule for his committee to scrutinize the budget.
Per City ordinance, Shad and his committee will begin the process Aug. 16 in the Council Chambers at City Hall starting at 9 a.m. The hearings, which are open to the public, run until 4 p.m.
