This year’s annual Florida Bar Diversity Symposium presented by the Equal Opportunities Law Section of the Florida Bar is scheduled for April 12-13 at the Florida International University College of Law in Miami.

Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice R. Fred Lewis’ luncheon keynote address will discuss his Justice Teaching and diversity initiatives, specifically addressing Bar members with disabilities.

The symposium’s panel discussion topics include:

• Increasing Diversity in Corporate Law Offices and Law Firms: Techniques that Work

• Overcoming Obstacles: Lawyers with Disabilities

• Coming Out and Surviving: The Invisible Minority

• Loss of Future Diversity: Declining Minority Enrollment and Low Bar Passage Rate

Attendees can earn CLE credit for the panel discussions.

Since its beginning in April 2004, the annual symposium’s purpose is to bring together bar leaders, judges, lawyers and legal educators in Florida to dialogue on expanding diversity efforts so that the legal profession will more closely reflect the makeup of society, especially Florida’s population.
