The Jacksonville Real Estate Investors’ Association held a a recent tradeshow and auction that was attended by numerous area Realtors, real estate investors, appraisors and construction industry members.

The non-profit real estate association auctioned off three mentors, full-time real estate investors, to industry members for a six-hour session and choice of breakfast or lunch.

The three winning bids were for $600 each, with half of each going to Ability Housing of Northeast Florida, which provides housing for the disabled.

Heather Parks of First Coast Land Survey was the winning bidder for mentor No. 1, Joe Locklear, a licensed general contractor and speaker who sepcializes in small home repairs, multi-million dollar commercial projects and historic restorations.

Harrell Jones, a new investor and full time student, was the winning bidder for mentor No. 2, Dave Chappell, who has been in the business for over 30 years and has completed numerous single family residences, commercial strip centers and town home communities.

Landlord expert David Doyle was the last auctioned mentor with the winning bidder Dave Addlink, a long time investor.

“I always feel I can learn more,” said Addlink after the winning bid, “and why not learn more from a landlord expert?”
