The second annual Sales and Marketing Committee Benefit Auction is October 19 at the Jacksonville Marriott.

Golf packages, vacation getaways, fine art, sporting goods, jewelry and more are expected to be sold by Bill Elrod of Elrod Auctions.

This year’s proceeds will benefit Builders Care and The Arnold Tritt Scholarship Fund.

Builders Care is a nonprofit division of the Northeast Florida Builders Association established to reduce substandard housing by providing repair services to seriously deteriorated homes belonging to the low income, elderly and disabled. Since beginning operations in 2001, more than 600 homes have been transformed. An estimated 45,000 substandard houses in Northeast Florida remain in desperate need of repair.

The Arnold Tritt Education Fund was established to assist students enrolled in the Building Construction Management program at the University of North Florida. Grants are awarded to University of North Florida Construction Management program students based on financial need. After 34 years of service as the executive director of NEFBA, Tritt’s title is now Executive Advisor.

SMC is currently accepting auction items and donations. For more information, please the event’s chairperson, Amber Williams at 737-5005.

“I can’t stress the importance of donations. Our auction wouldn’t be possible without the actions of so many generous individuals,” says Williams.
