Smith Hulsey & Busey adds three new attorneys

The law firm of Smith Hulsey & Busey has hired three additional lawyers. Chris Henderson joined the firm’s business department while Meg Ryan and Nick Morcom joined the litigation department.


Henderson’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions, entity structuring and general business matters. He also is involved with real estate development, financing and loan workouts and restructuring. He will work with shareholder Dick Lewis, Chairman of the firm’s business department.

Henderson completed a joint degree program at the University of Florida, graduating in 2007 with a masters of science in real estate and a law degree.


Ryan specializes in medical malpractice, representing hospitals and physicians in the defense of medical malpractice claims. She will work with shareholders Earl Googe and Bill Kuntz, the managing shareholder of the firm.

Ryan received her law degree from the University of Florida in 2007, graduating in the top 5 percent of her class.


Morcom’s practice is focused on litigation, mediation and arbitration in the resolution of complex commercial disputes. He will work with shareholder E. Lanny Russell. Prior to joining Smith Hulsey & Busey, Morcom worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit from 2005-08. From 2003-05, he practiced private criminal defense with the law office of Joseph A. Turner in Austin, Texas.

Morcom earned his law degree in 2003 from the University of Texas at Austin.
