• Ch. 47 morning news anchor Paul Folger has moved on. He’s now with a station in Oklahoma City. Celine McArthur will solo anchor the morning show until Folger’s replacement is announced.

• The Jaguars’ first president and CEO, David Seldin, was one of the people we wanted to spotlight in the “Where are they now?” feature in the Daily Record. When we tried to contact him, his assistant called back and left a message stating that he was “not interested.” We can tell you Seldin is on the board of directors at Emigrant Capital in New York City and according to its Web site, the firm “provides the capital and expertise to help growing businesses realize their full potential.”

• Speaking of our “Where are they?” feature, this week’s is on Mike Sullivan, the former head of the Sports and Entertainment Board.

• An update to Monday’s story about Drug Court: In the story, State Attorney Harry Shorstein said he felt he had a commitment about funding for the program from Mayor John Peyton. He was right. As part of the Peyton’s budget proposal, he included $250,000 to keep the program funded. However, the program needs $330,000 a year. According to Acting Court Administrator Joe Stelma, court officials have already met with Council member Daniel Davis who agreed to push for the additional needed funding. It’s a program that Davis has roots in – his first job was with Drug Court.

• Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp will be in town Sept. 9. He’s chair of the 2008 Florida Campaign for the United Negro College Fund. The organization is having a big luncheon at the Omni.

• Deutsche Bank will cut the ribbon to its new Jacksonville service center Wednesday at 5 p.m. The center is on Gate Parkway.

• Gov. Charlie Crist made new appointments to the Workforce Florida Inc. Board of Directors and some of the appointees are from North Florida. Kathryn “Kay” Cowling of Ponte Vedra Beach has been appointed to a term ending March 21, 2010. She is senior vice president of corporate development at Medical Services Company. Linda Sparks of Orange Park has been appointed to a term that will end July 6, 2010. She is regional executive director of the Jacksonville Academy of Electrical Technology. Workforce Florida, Inc. was created by Gov. Jeb Bush and the Florida Legislature. The 45-member board oversees and monitors the administration of the state’s workforce policy, programs and services.

• The Beatles return to Jacksonville on Sunday. The movie “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” will be shown at the Florida Theater at 2 p.m. The “Fab Four’s” initial trip to Jacksonville included a concert at the Gator Bowl during their first American tour in 1964.

• The United States General Services Administration will officially designate the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse during an Aug. 11 ceremony at 10 a.m. GSA Regional Administrator Craig Dawson and the judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida will host the event. Simpson was appointed by President Harry Truman to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and is a former Chief Judge for the Middle District of Florida. He died in 1987.
