Nancy Riley, the 2007 president of the Florida Association of Realtors and a member of the Pinellas Suncoast Association of Realtors, has been named FAR’s 2008 Realtor of the Year. The award - one of several - was presented at the recent 92nd annual Convention & Trade Expo at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa in Lake Buena Vista.
Other winners:
Associate Realtor of the Year: Susanna Madden, Greater Tampa Association of Realtors. Madden has been president of her local association and served as 2006 president of the Florida chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.
Realtor Achievement Award: Nancy Hogan, Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. She presents seminars throughout Florida in support of the campaign against mortgage fraud, and, at the state level, created a task force against mortgage fraud in 2006. She was the 2006 chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission.
Humanitarian of the Year Award: Claudette Bruck, Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale. She is a fundraiser, financial supporter and volunteer for Broward Partnership for the Homeless Inc., which has helped more than 12,000 homeless individuals since 1999.
Newcomer Award: Christina Pitchford Perez, Sarasota Association of Realtors. She is a founding member and the 2008 vice chair of the Sarasota Young Realtors group, established by her local association in 2007 to identify and foster future leaders. She also is a founding member of the Green Realtors Alliance of Sarasota.
Education - Individual Achievement: Ric Giumenta, Flagler County Association of Realtors.
Graduate Realtor Institute Scholastic Achievement Award: Suzanne Dunn, GRI, Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale; and Scott Reisig, GRI, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors.
Florida Realtor Magazine Editorial Excellence Award: “How to Supercharge Your Network,” Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches.
Florida Realtor Magazine Best Article Award: “How to Manage the Curve Ball,” Rosa Nell Hammer, Realtor Association of Miami-Dade County.
