Dave McBroom described what he and his staff were doing Tuesday morning as “Not something we do every day.” Owner of Sunbeam Auto Body, McBroom was referring to the restoration of James Rosburg’s outdoor sculpture, “Harlan” and its installation on Laura Street in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville. After removing the sculpture from its previous location at 550 Water Street, McBroom worked with the artist on a pro bono basis to repaint the artwork to match the original colors and place it at Hemming Plaza as Jacksonville’s newest piece of public art. “This has really been a fun project,” added McBroom. MOCA’s board of trustees will host the official unveiling tonight at 6 p.m. as part of First Wednesday Art Walk.
