• Someone might need a priority adjustment. Mayor John Peyton will be out of town during Georgia-Florida weekend to attend a wedding. City Council President Ronnie Fussell will fill in for the mayor during the weekend’s festivities. Fussell admitted he was accused of being biased when it came to the game. “I think I’m the only Council President to be a Georgia Bulldog,” said Fussell. “But I’ll be dressed neutral for the game.”
• What a pile of.... garbage: The University of North Florida will hold its second trash and recycling audit Nov. 16, with volunteers sifting through and cataloguing piles of garbage on the campus Green from 10:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. The goal is to help educate faculty and staff about ways to reduce trash through recycling and litter-prevention. It’ll be preceded by a campus cleanup at 7:30 a.m. Since its first such waste event last year, programs at UNF have created a new Recycle and Refuse Department, renovated campus waste management and expanded the recycling program.
