The Department of Business and Professional Regulation, which supervises most of the state’s licensees including real estate and construction, has a new interim leader.

Governor Charlie Crist promoted Charles “Chuck” Drago to become his deputy chief of staff and replaced him with DBPR’s chief of staff Charlie Liem on an interim basis.

Prior to being promoted, Drago served since February 2008 as DBPR secretary.

Your company’s ad on a car license tag? It’s a program in Texas and Re/Max was the first to sign up. A private company sells the plates and the state takes its fee. The state is guaranteed a minimum of $25 million over five years. Said a Re/Max spokesman, “These plates are like mobile billboards all over Texas.”

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has made substantial changes to the licensing forms required for real estate brokers and sales associates.

The commonly used 2050 form has been merged into several new forms, including the RE 10 and the RE 11.
