Former Jaguars head coach and current New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin was in town last week for the 5th Annual Jay Fund Wine Tasting Gala Friday in the lobby of Independent Square. Dozens of people attended the event, including John Wilbanks and Marlene Spalten. According to Keli Coughlin, the event generated $136,000 for the Jay Fund, which was created in 1996 in honor of Jay McGillis, who played for Coughlin at Boston College and developed leukemia. Several items in the auction went for high bids, but the top sports items was a Tim Tebow signed Gators helmet that went for $1,100. “We are very pleased with the results,” said Keli Coughlin.
