Barnett’s Jewelers at Independent Square was doing quite a bit of business even during the parade.

Michael Muttillo and Mike Paulson were selling books at Chamblin’s Uptown on Laura Street. The Main Library was closed, so the shop was the only game in town for readers.

Owner Sam Hamidi was in the kitchen early in the morning getting ready for lunch at Casa Dora on Forsyth Street.

Emily Pennington was answering the phone and greeting clients at the Dalton Agency on West Monroe Street.
