The Hispanic Bar Association of Northeast Florida and the Florida Coastal School of Law Hispanic-American Law Students Association recognized Duval County Court Judge Roberto Arias for his over 30- year commitment to serving the Jacksonville and legal communities.

The ceremony was held in the atrium of FCSL Thursday with about 50 people in attendance.

“I am touched by this gesture and humbled by the recognition from the members of the Hispanic Bar Association of Northeast Florida and the Florida Coastal Law School Hispanic-American Law Student Association,” said Arias. “Over the past 30 years as an attorney and a judge, I have always considered it an honor and my duty to serve the needs of my community whether by representing those who may have lacked the funds to hire an attorney, by being actively involved in my church or by being a member of the bench and charitable organizations in which I serve and have served.

“I must note that there are many lawyers and judges that likewise and without fanfare unselfishly give their time and services to help those in need in this community. I am grateful to accept this recognition from both of these fine groups of current and future members of the Bar.”
